Stool Color
Stool Color. All shades of brown and even green are considered normal. Stool color is generally influenced by what you eat as well as by the amount of bile — a yellow-green fluid that digests fats — in your stool.
If you have stools that are this color, contact your doctor but do not overreact. The color of your stool depends on a couple of things: your diet and how much bile is in it. Normal stool color can range from light yellow to brown to almost black.
However, a change in diet or the presence of some conditions can lead to a change in stool color.
There are other less-serious reasons for the change in color.
