Complimentary Colors. At the heart of color theory, complementary colors are the opposite hues on the color wheel. Complementary Two colors that are on opposite sides of the color wheel.
To be sure, knowing where they lie on a Color Wheel is basic. Complementary colors, when used correctly, liven up a room in a way that's also soothing and pleasing to the eye. They are equidistant on the color circle, making the shape of a triangle.
Some colors go together like chalk and cheese.
Complementary colors provide feels of energy and vitality to the viewer.
This creates a dynamic, vivid, and playful effect. Pink and green cancel out each other, forming a pale gray. For whatever reason (science!!), these color combinations are almost guaranteed to be pleasing to the eye.
